About O'Neill
Sometime around 1952, Jack O'Neill opened the first surf shop in a garage across the Great Highway. He shaped a few balsa surfboards and sold accessories like paraffin wax and few vests (glued together from neoprene). When the vests started selling, Jack decided to go into the wetsuit business. His friends laughed. They asked him what he planned to do for business after the handful of surfers in the area had bought one. Jack said he'd cross that bridge when he got to it.
Customer Reviews
Be careful of size. (2010-01-07)
I ordered a size 12 for my son that weighs 73 pounds. He is tall and slim and this shirt fits perfectly for a rash guard (not too loose). He normally wears a size 10 shirt.
Well-made rashguard (2008-08-13)
This is a very well-made rashguard, as to be expected from a product made by O'Neill. However, I purchased my son a size 10 thinking it would be the right side since he is a bit smaller than most 9 year old boys. In the product listing they mention that the guard is fitted and to purchase larger than you normally wear. They weren't kidding! When the rashguard arrived, it would most likely have fit a preschooler. It was so small. The shirt is great, just be sure to purchase at least 3 times what your child normally wears. I found that it was best for me to take my son into a store to try on rashguards. O'Neill rashguards tend to vary the way they fit even though they may have the same size listed.
